Today is the day

I turn 30. I guess there is no looking back now. Does this mean i have to put away my crayons and coloring books?

I got my hair done! I forgot to get a before pic..but here's the new hair! I am not good at all with the self portraits in the mirror pics. I do not think this is a very good picture of myself. But it's the best i can do!

My hair is much shorter. Before it went down past my shoulders! I'll post pics of the party later!

A Litttle Catch up part 2

Sorry, we had to go for a walk!

So this past weekend we went up to Walker to visit with Derek's mom's side of the family. Derek's cousin Emily graduated from high school. It was lots of fun! We played swing ball with derek's cousin Zach, and bean bag toss with Uncle Larry. Played cards with mom and dad, and i'm not good at playing "Screw your Neighbor" at all! We always have lots of fun up there!

Taquito stayed at Woof Dah for the weekend. He was very tired! So tired that he fell asleep in the car on the way home and then on the couch. He was on the couch with his legs sticking WAY off the couch, when he slid right off the couch. he didn't even move he was so tired! He finally settled on his bed when we brought it to the livingroom. Normally he doesn't sleep on it too much, but apparently it was comfortable this time.

Let's see... (i'm doing my catch up backwards!!)I did some planting in the backyard the weekend before Memorial Weekend. Some Impatients along the patio, more by the gate, and in the back corner. I am having a problem with a rabbit right now. he keeps burrowing under the fence and has eaten three plants so far.

So Friday is my birthday. Since i am turning 30, i have decided to take the day off work and go get my hair cut! I may even go get a new outfit for my party that night! I'll post pictures of my new hair after i get it cut!

A Little Catch up

So the past two weekends have been busy for us! We have planted flowers, bought a new car, gone up north to visit family. It's been hectic and fun!

So here is my old baby(on the left). A Kia Sportage that was a pain in the butt. So much money went into this car, we are happy we got money for it! We traded it in for a 2006 Saturn Vue(on the right). It only had 12,980 miles, but we took it north this past weekend, so we're up to 13,000. It feels like a mini van, very roomy inside, but looks like an SUV/station wagon. It's a little longer than the Kia, so i am learning to manuever it . The fun thing about Saturn, we got our picture taken the day we got it!

Friday before a long weekend

Seriously, i am so bored and cannot stay on task today. One of our databases is down and being worked on, so i can only work half of my deposits. Plus, no one calls on the friday before a holiday. So i am sitting here, attempting to stay on task...it's not working. I am about to bust out the carebears and start my own little theatrical performance. I think my coworkers would love a fun little drama starring my all time favorite - Funshine bear.

See, i'm nuts and bored...if anything, possibly entertaining.

Can i go home yet??

Hmm...I guess we've gone green...

So i purchased new curtains for a few rooms. The guest room, or "Erin's Room" as we still call it, needed an update from the plain roll down shades. So i added some sheers to give the windows a little something extra.

But really the credit goes to Derek. Apparently he didn't like some of the window coverings we have, so i got to go on a shopping spree for new curtains. I only bought for two rooms, the kitchen and office will have to wait. The bathroom had mini blinds, which i didn't like, they were broken... You had to turn the small nub of a stick at the top to open them, or pull them all the away open. So i bought a valance, and cafe curtains. But i didn't measure the length, so i am in the process of hemming them up. They hung down to just above the toilet paper roll. I only have one of the cafe curtains hanging in the picture. But it's at the new height that i hemmed it at. Which brings me to why i am posting and the title of my post. Derek said he was going outside to mow...but our mower broke last year. I forgot we had even had this. I heard a strange noise coming from outside and guess what he's using now?! (Sorry no sound, my camera doesn't have a microphone)

My Birthday Present

So Derek is not much for waiting till the day of the event if he bought a present. Which is why in the past 3 christmases we have yet to open ours gifts on christmas, but a few days before hand because he cannot stand the waiting. So when said he had bought my Birthday gift, and i jokingly said you did, what is it?. His response was...Here i'll let you have it now. Who am i to burst his bubble and not let me see it? So he hands me a piece of paper and said, i can show you what you're getting, but you won't actually get it until after your birthday. Imagine my surprise when that piece of paper tells me i get to go see these guys in June... in Concert... in Section 111... Row 1. I mean SERIOUSLY?! My. Favorite. Band. If you don't know who the three gents on the right are, it's REM. I am so excited!!! I cannot wait till June!! I don't think anything can top this! I have THE WORLDS BEST HUSBAND!!!
