Out of the Ordinary

Last night we did something we don't ordinarily do, or rather something i have never done...we went to a High School Hockey game! Derek emailed me at work and asked if i wanted to go watch Bloomington-Jefferson play Wayzata. Since i had never been, not even in high school(not even sure if Fridley still has a hockey team) i said "Sure,Why not"! Let me tell ya, i thought the hockey rinks we've been to for Derek's league stunk...WOW! You ever smelt a kid who's wet their pants after drinking too much apple juice...yup, it's gross! Derek so eloquently described it as "unwashed nut cup"...which is equally gross. And i really want to put our future kids into this sport? HECK YEAH!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had two Thanksgiving celebrations this year, one at my parents and one with Derek's mom and step-dad at our house.

A few pictures from actual turkey day...

Our first picture...my uncle Butch and cousin Aaron are goofin for the camera

Our second picture...no goofin!

Then we had our second turkey day on Saturday...i cooked! I guess if you cook it breast side down(upside down) it keeps it juicier! So my bird turned out awesome! I didn't get a picture with us all at the table, but here is our wonderful meal!

All this food, and not many left overs...

Derek and Taquito cuddling on the couch...I really like this picture!

Taquito and Mom Atkinson cudding on the couch...It was such a rough day!

Then today(Sunday) we put up our Christmas tree and I decorated the house.

Our Trip to Duluth and Other Fun Weekend stuff

So once again i find myself playing catch up on our blog. So last weekend (the weekend before Thanksgiving) Derek and I went up to Duluth, we were there from Saturday to Sunday. One of his teammates on his hockey team has season tickets to the DECC because he went to school up there. He wasn't using them that weekend, so Derek bought them and off we went to cheer for the Sioux! We stayed at a very nice hotel, The Inn on Lake Superior, which was in walking distance to the DECC. We got there around 3pm and wandered around Canal Park for a bit and then had dinner at Famous Daves. Our seats were awesome and we had a really nice time even though the Siuox didn't win. There were quite a few Sioux fans that made the drive to watch as well. Here are a few pictures.

Once we got back on that Sunday, Derek had a hockey game to play in...so i took a few pictures of him out on the ice!

Halloween Night

Ok, our neighborhood sux! We had 12 trick o treaters again this year. I bought 3 HUGE bags of candy and we were handing it out by the handful! We still have candy left over. What gives? These are my theories:
1. Our neighborhood sux!
2. People our age with kids have lost the fundamental idea that trick or treating is fun and need to take the stick outta their bee-hinds and come to my house for candy
3. We don't have many kids in our neighborhood
Derek says it's three...but i don't buy it, i'm sicking with one and two just because i remember hitting two neighborhoods when i was a kid(and very sick)and wanting to go to number three but couldn't because i wasn't feeling well...
We did get to see our neighbor's little boy dressed up as a dragon...he was super cute!!

On another note...my hubby rocks!
I am a GL'er...for those who know what that is...congrats and good luck!
Look what Derek got me the other day!

Pumpkin Time!

So Derek and I carved our pumpkins tonight! I am really hoping we have more than 12 trick o' treaters this year!

These guys turned into these guys!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
P.S. Can you guess who carved which pumpkin?

Halloween 08

It's that time again, the Suss Halloween party. Since they moved out to Timbuktu(seriously...they live out by Mound) the number of people have dwindled. But the Suss's were out in full force(minus a few degrees since Candace is expecting babe number 2), but good times were still had by all!

Here are a few pictures (don't worry guys, this is not a full on public blog)

This was the group picture. I couldn't quite figure out the delay on the camera. BTW...Derek and I went as Burt and Ernie! You can kinda see us on the right in this picture.

What we've been up to

So the weekend of September 15th, we went up to Walker, MN to visit Derek's mom and Craig. We went to the Walker Ethnic festival! Here are a few pictures.

Then this past weekend I went to Aaron and Maggien's on Friday night for some cousin fun! I brought Taquito and Daisy, and they played quite a bit! I got some video footage. Watch Daisy chomp down on Taquito's tail!

Then on Saturday we went to a wedding reception in Hager City, WI. Congratulations Audrey and Pat!

An Almost Finished Room!

Well, i got our new bedding for our "Adult bedroom". Derek calls it our Peppermint Bon Bon bedding. Very green and dark choclate brown. It took me going to two different Marshall's, Linen N things, Bed bath and beyond, Macy's, and Kohls before deciding on a set at Linen N things. I just got the comforter set, so i'll have to go back and get the decorator pillows. My next purchase will be new regular pillows for our bed, lamps and wall art!

I think we have someone else who really loves the new bed...
Spaz seems to melt right in!

Introducing...

The newset member of the wood family!
DAZY(Daisy) WOOD- My brother has yet to decide how to spell it
She so darn cute! A little yellow Lab mix girl!

My brother loves to get his picture taken...here his is with is little one!

Oops...i'm a bit behind

So we went up to Lake Pleasant, right outside of St. Cloud for Derek and Brent's Birthday - over the weekend of August 22nd. We rented out a house with 12 other people. We had a great time! We rented the pontoon boat and Captain Brent took it out. The next pictures are too funny!

Trying to dock... Ooops a bit to far.... Had some helpers...
But decided to try again...

It was pretty funny to watch!
The house was beautiful! This is from the back, we didn't get a picture of the front.

Here are the birthday boys!

Happy Labor Day!

My mother in law was nice enough to get us a new mattress and box spring for our 2nd anniversary!

So i decided we needed to get rid of Derek's attempt at a headboard...look at the picture closely, our pillows do fall on to the little headboard....and get ADULT bedroom furniture!!

Crafts

Anyone who knows me knows i love crafts! My latest obsession is knitting. I finished a baby blanket for my friend. They are havin a little boy. So i pick out Yellow, White, and Green. It turned out really cute. I don't think she checks this often, if she does, Well; Jen, here's what i made for Max!!

This picture is a little closer to show the detail.

Here is my latest project! I love the colors, pink, orangey-yellow, Cream and white. Not quite sure who this is going to. I may keep it for the next friend to have a baby...hopefully it's a girl.

Long time, no post

So my mother in law visited on Monday(Hi Les!!) and scolded me for not updating the blog enough. Hehehe! Sorry readers!

Well, we had a very busy weekend, which completely flew by! So here's what we did.

Saturday we went over to my coworker Tona's house. They had a backyard Luau for all their friends and family and were nice to invite Derek and I over. They have a great house and a huge back yard. But we couldn't stay long, because our friend Nate turned 30 and his wife threw him a surprise party at Glueks. He had no clue, and we had lots of fun.

On Sunday we had tickets to go to the March of Dimes award ceremony at the metrodome. We got to go out on the field and then watch the game. It was a lot of fun. We got to hang out with friends Candace and Mike. Then we had to high tail it down to Bloomington for our friend Jodi's birthday. Derek played Volleyball with some friends while i watched.
We did have a great weekend, but it went by a little too fast!
