Our Little Visitors

So i am sitting on the couch; knitting, and watching Harry Potter, when Derek yells at me to come get the dog. Hurry! he yells. So i jump up run out there, yell profusely at the dog to get inside. He actually comes inside, which i was shocked at. But then as Derek was telling to look at the fence, Taquito busts out the screen door(for those who don't know, Taquito can let himself out, the door doesn't latch tight enough). So i hollar and scream at the dog, cuz i saw what was on the fence. Finally i get the treat bucket, shake it and inside he goes. This time i shut the inside door so he can't come out.

Derek was talking to our backyard neighbor trying to decide if we call 911 or if the neighbor should just wack at them with a 2x4. We elected to call 911. The police officer was very nice, but told us he couldn't do anything. Which i'm sure pissed off our neighbor, cuz he kept hitting the fence with his 2x4. Which made them move...

This was another little guy who ran up our tree right in the middle of our backyard. They were pretty little, but i'm sure momma was around somewhere watching us. We'll have to keep an eye out on Taquito for the next month or so. Would hate for him to get bit or heaven forbid actually catch a Raccoon!!

Three Weeks Early!

Holy moley!

So i was in the process of making a baby blanket for our friends Kevin and Wendy, and I thought I had 3 weeks yet. But nope, little Blake decided he needed to come early.

Little Blake was born on Thursday at 1:30pm, weighing in at 5lbs, 12oz. 20 1/2 inches long.

He is very cute, I even got Derek to hold him.

So for the past three days i have been trying my darnest to get this blanket done. I finished it in the car on our way to meet the first child of our tight knit group of friends. I wish i had a picture of the blanket. But i'll be making more since i have a few more friends who are due to have babies.

The Dog Who's Afraid of a Cat

So my cousin Aaron and his girlfriend Maggien invited us over this weekend to hang out. Derek went golfing at 11ish on saturday with Aaron, Shawn(Aaron's brother) and my brother Eric. Then i met up with them at Aaron and Maggien's house around 5. I brought the dog, because we decided to just spend the night and they have a fenced in back yard. We sat up till around midnight playing Apples to Apples and listening to music. We try to do this about once or twice a month.

So Taquito was scared of their cat Hallia(Sp?) It was the funniest thing to watch. She would hiss and he would go no where near her. The best was when she came outside and he wanted to play with her, so he'd run around her until she chased him a bit. It was cute! She would get so puffed up. But Taquito lives with a cat, so we know he would never do anything. I think this was probably the closest they got to each other all night!

New Camera!

I just bought a new camera. It was part birthday present to me(used some birthday money) and part economic stimulus check. I love it! It's a Canon powershot Digtal. It looks like a really nice Digital SLR, but it's not. The pictures are really clear! You can actually see Taquitos cute face now!

REM - Awesome night!

So my camera didn't work too well, but this picture gives you an idea of where our seats were. Our seats were awesome! The set list(song list) was awesome! REM has a new album out. Accelerate, it's very politically charged, but very good! I was happy to see them live finally!!

We are looking in to getting a new camera. Probably something a little nicer that takes great pictures. I'm thinking an DSLR, but we'll see. I have my eye on a nice Canon. My camera works great for trips out with the friends. But i wanted something i could take good pictures with. So we'll see what happens.

The day after

So Derek got up early and left to go to our friend Mike's bachlor party in Wisconsin. So i was he to wait out the storm. The tornado sirens went off and it got really black outside. So i grabbed the cat and threw him in the spare room downstairs while the dog and i sat and watched the hail come down. The pictures are cool!





Here is our deck in the backyard and the big tree. Just amazing that we didn't lose windows or damage our roof. We are cuurently on clean up duty. Sweeping the driveway, mowing, washing down the car. Which also amazingly enough had no damage to it that we can see.

Wow! What a night!

I hate to admit it, but i really don't remember much after...i think it was about 8:30ish. I remember bits and pieces, but that's about it. So here is a fun picture montage of the evening.
