40 weeks...Come on baby!!

Alright, so tomorrow i will officially be "overdue". I am uncomfortable and waiting for these contractions to become more regular. Grandpa Wood thinks i'll go on Monday, Grandma Atkinson thinks Wednesday. I really hope i go tonight. This waiting is nuts!! Now Taquito has some itchy spots, so right now we have to take care of our big baby. He gets to go to the vet tonight. So hopefully we can get him feeling better, and then momma can have her baby and start feeling more comfortable!!

Here is my last(hopefully) update from BabyCenter.

Your pregnancy: 40 weeks
How your baby's growing:
It's hard to say for sure how big your baby will be, but the average newborn weighs about 7 1/2 pounds (
a small pumpkin) and is about 20 inches long. His skull bones are not yet fused, which allows them to overlap a bit if it's a snug fit through the birth canal during labor. This so-called "molding" is the reason your baby's noggin may look a little conehead-ish after birth. Rest assured — it's normal and temporary.

Slow progress and a name!!

So our progress is slow, we're about 1 1/2 cm dilated...hoping something goes soon here. Derek still thinks we're going to go tomorrow, but unless something starts happening now, i don't think so.

We finally figured out a name for our little girl!!! So now it seems alot more real to be able to call her something other than squishy or little girl. But we're still not saying anything till shes here!!

So let the waiting game begin!!

39 Weeks and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

So today we have a week left!! Hopefully she'll come soon!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEREK!!!
Today is Derek's birthday, so he is out playing his free round of golf, which he played two rounds yesterday too. Guess it's good to let him now, since soon he won't be able to. At least not as often. :)

I am so excited and can't wait to meet her!!!

Here is our update...

Your pregnancy: 39 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it's likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of her skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

38 Weeks

So it feels ike we're in a holding pattern here. A few cramps and cntractions here and there, but nothing signifcant. This kid likes to brace herself against my side and back, so i get one sore spot on my back that just doesn't seem to go away. Derek is playing softball today. The team he plays with made it to the State championships. So since it's going to be about 90 and and lord knows how humid...i am staying home. Think i will start knitting another blanket. So off i go to michaels around 10!!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

37 weeks and getting impatient

So today i am considered full term. Derek is out golfing and i am sitting on the couch. Still lots of cramping, but not much else. It is nice to have time to myself for a while...i hear i won't have that soon! :)

Here is our update for this week!

Your pregnancy: 37 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Patiently waiting

Taquito has been going in here every morning and i believe he's in there right now...patiently waiting for the baby to show up...

Or...could it be he's really wanting the birthing ball?

36 weeks

So I've been feeling some cramping. I hope this means something is finally happening down there. My weekly doctor visits have yielded no progress down there. But we did get to see her moving around again, we got another ultrasound to verify she was indeed head down. Thye double hecked...it's still a little girl, nothing sprouted out since our last ultra sound.
Derek and I went to a Twins game last night. We had our season tickets, but got to sit in a suite! They're not bad for the metro dome. I was comfortable! It was raining when we got out, and as we were walking to the car i felt what felt like a long trickle...so we thought my water broke. But we couldn't be sure till we got home. It was a false alarm...baby's been sitting/laying/kicking/playing with my bladder. So i basically peed my pants a bit! Yeah!!!

I am so ready for this little one to come. Pregnancy is not AT ALL what i had imagined. Poor Derek has been such a trooper with all my whining and complaining. So again today i have been feeling some cramping. I have been trying to take a nap, and it's not working. So i sit on my exercise ball/birthing ball, or walk around the house till they go away. Bt they keep cming back. So keep your fingers crossed! Tomorrow i am going to a Twins game with Candace and Derek is going golfing. It could be an interesting weekend!

Our Progress:

Your pregnancy: 36 weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement. At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely she's in a head-down position. But if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an "external cephalic version," which is a fancy way of saying she'll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.
