Our Busy Weekend

So Friday night we had a nice relaxing night in, we sat on the couch watching the Pittsburgh Vs. Detroit hockey game. It was a really really fun game to watch! Same teams that played last year in the finals, except this year, Pittsburgh won!!

The we got up on Saturday and droped Taquito off at the vet for his yearly exam. Then went to look at cars for Derek. There was nothing "wrong" with his car, we just figured it was time to replace his car with something a little newer. So we bought a 2008 Saturn Aura! They needed to fix the alignment on the car, so we drove off the lot wih a 2007 Impala...not as nice in my opinion! So hopefully on Monday Derek can go pick up his new car! Then while we waited on Taquito, we wandered around Hom Furniture looking at sectionals and dodging the sales reps. We capped our evening of with the Sorensens. Aaron and Erin came over for dinner, they brought steak and salmon. We had a nice time out on the patio, and pretty much went to bed after they left!

Sunday was a putzing around the house day. Derek cleaned the gutters and mowed, then we decided to plant. We went to Malmborg's, they had a 30% off sale on perennials and annuals. Never been there, but they were very helpful and had ALOT of selection! I will definitely be going back! The following are made possible by Leslie(my mother in-law, Thank you again Les!!!)

Our Vegetable
garden - We don't have enought sun in the back yard, so this is what we came up with!

Hostas - in front of the deck...the one plant has red in there, we call it our "Koi plant"

The Back corner of the yard - We have a bleeding heart, hostas and Wax begonias

This is the flower box out front on the left side facing the house - We have White clips, wax begonias. The daylilies and creeping phlox we've had since last year.

The right flower bed - We have wax begonias, a few annuals, white clips.

So we have all the plants done that we're doing this year. We'll see hat all takes and if we have to replace any next year.
